Learning Outcomes
Description
Each student gets the assignment of finding 9 articles (or less if that suits the students better) on topics regarding citizenship and SDGs. They will have to put each article with the title and main topic in one of the squares of the TIC TAC TOE Grid.
Students will have to mingle with each other, and explain to one another what their articles are about. When a student has found another student that has a similar article, both students can cross out that article. The first student that was able to cross three articles in one row out, is the winner.
Three approaches to continue after the interactive part:
- Let the students who have similar articles explain each other how they found their articles. Moreover, let them discuss how to find credible articles and how they can critically take a look at those articles.
- Let students who don’t have similar articles explain each other what their articles is about and why it is related to the topics of either citizenship or the SDGs. They can also discuss how to critically look at the articles and how they each found their articles.
- Have a class discussion on how to find credible articles, how to look critically on articles and how certain articles are related to the topics of citizenship and/or SDGs.
Set a time frame or a home assignment for finding the articles (e.g. a week for home)
Questions for Reflections
- How did you search for your articles?
- Why did you choose these articles?
- Do you think these articles are credible? If yes, how come? If not, why not?
- Now that you have heard others sharing how they have done it, would you change your approach?
